Scholarships

For Teachers:

PMEA District 12 is offering an Annual In-Service Conference Scholarship to its membership for anyone who would like to go to the Annual Conference, but would have to pay out of pocket.  This scholarship covers registration and hotel costs for the 2026 PMEA Annual In-Service Conference at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos, April 23-25, 2026.  Applications MUST be submitted fully completed by Friday, January 30th to be considered for this scholarship.
 

 

For Students – Class of 2026

PMEA District 12 annually awards scholarships to high school seniors who will be majoring in music education at an accredited college or university. These scholarships are intended to support students across diverse musical fields, including choral, band (concert/jazz/modern), and orchestra, ensuring representation from each area.

Verification of acceptance into a music education program will be required. District 12 reserves the right to withhold any of the scholarships if none of the candidates meet established criteria.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be a current senior participating member of a music program ensemble at a PMEA District 12 High School. (Band, Orchestra, Choir/Acapella, Jazz Band, Modern Band)
The candidate’s director must be a current active member in good standing of PMEA.
The candidate must be enrolled as a music education major at an accredited college or
university.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
1 – Meet all the criteria listed above.
2 – Have your Director write a letter of recommendation (will be uploaded to application)
3 – Fill out the Scholarship Application by April 1, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The District 12 Scholarship Committee will meet to review all applications and will present to the Executive Board their recommendations.
Any members of the Executive Committee whose own students are applicants will be excused from the selection process.
Winners will be notified no later than May 1, 2026. The awards can be announced at the
winner’s own school during an appropriate ceremony, if possible.
Upon receiving a Final High School Transcript verifying the student’s high school graduation, monies will be sent directly to the student’s school in the form of a check.
